Virginie Bonin has taken advantage of the crisis to expand her company, which specialises in event management. She now wants to hire around Maule (Yvelines).

“My small business is not in crisis”. These words, taken from a famous Alain Bashung song, may seem reductive when describing Virginie Bonin’s situation.

This resident of Maule (Yvelines), who after working for twelve years in the hotel industry decided to launch herself into the events business in 2014, has indeed experienced the last few difficult months marked by an almost general halt in events around the world.
“In life, you have to take risks”

Instead of giving up, she decided to give a new direction to her company, Expert Eye Events.

“In life, you have to take risks. I am convinced that after the crisis, things will pick up again. That’s why I want to turn my self-employed business into an SAS (simplified joint stock company). I am simply planning to expand and hire local staff.

Manager of Expert Eye Events

With her experience in the hotel industry and the many contacts she has made, Virginie Bonin wanted to “change her plans” seven years ago by launching Expert Eye Events.

I offer to help companies, some of which are very well known, to organise events all over the world. I look for venues, I negotiate hotel contracts. My aim is to save them time and money. It can be for a day meeting, a seminar, a convention, a team building. With the health crisis, I have even worked on organising hybrid meetings or virtual cocktails.

She has organised over a hundred events throughout Europe, mainly in France and Germany, and sometimes even in the United States. “One of my best memories is of the “Olympic Games” organised by a windscreen repair specialist. It took place over four days at the Pavillon Baltard with no less than 600 people. We had to find foodtrucks, rock bands…”.
She diversifies the services offered

Remunerated by the venues booked as a business contributor, Virginie Bonin has never spared any effort to satisfy her clients, even if it meant putting her personal life on hold for a while. “Even when I was on holiday, I found it hard to switch off. My computer was always on.

After having touched “the greatest”, this mother of three children now wishes to add a string to her bow by also organising private events (weddings, christenings…) and by associating local companies (a caterer in Maule, a DJ in Mantes…). “For all this, I would need to hire someone to assist me.

And if this ambitious gamble is linked to the evolution of the health crisis, Virginie Bonin prefers to look to the future with optimism.

“In France, people don’t like to work from home. After the crisis, they will need to see each other. I hope to receive concrete requests for 2022 by the end of the year.
